Ethel Maqeda joins the Cut Collective crew

It’s time for us at Cut Collective to wish more happy welcomes as Sheffield-based Zimbabwean British writer Ethel Maqeda joins as our newest member.

Ethel writes compelling fiction and creative non-fiction that explores the untold experiences of African women, the legacies of colonialism and global exploitation, and the experiences of and battles against racism, drawing on traditional storytelling forms and a strong sense of humanity. If you have the opportunity to see her reading live, don’t pass it up. That’s how we at Cut first came across her and we knew then that we’d love to work with her.

Her work is widely published and you can find samples of it and a fuller biography on her pages here.
